A home yoga practice

Melissa Gray is dedicated to saving dogs lives, especially older retriever mixes. She dedicates her sweat, time and energy to helping dogs and working on the rescue she created, Daisy’s Place. And when she has time to herself she enjoys practicing yoga. She has a yoga room in her house (that she designed). And when she needs to clear her head she can step in, sit down and not be distracted by the constant emails she receives on the computer, phone calls or TV. But even Melissa’s “free” time is spent fostering dogs that she has not yet found a forever home and caring for her own dogs. She brings the dogs into the yoga room when she practices. She has found it to be very calming not just for her but also for the fostered dogs. It is not unusual for her to be sitting up for meditation and to be getting licks on the face, sniffs in the ear, or maybe even a paw hitting her leg. She is not distracted. She stays focused and the dogs eventually lay down and rest. Their breathing slows down. She sets an example of peace and the dogs can sense her energy.
