Headstand Workshop at Charleston Power Yoga, Oct. 3 12-2pm

Come and learn how to stand on your head correctly and safely with detailed and guided instruction.

Headstand (Sirshasana) is called “The King of Asanas” because it has profound psychic, physical, and psychological effects. The benefits of headstand are

  • Calms the brain and helps relieve stress and mild depression
  • Stimulates the pituitary and pineal glands
  • Strengthens the arms, legs, and spine
  • Strengthens the lungs
  • Tones the abdominal organs
  • Improves digestion
  • Helps relieve the symptoms of menopause
  • Therapeutic for asthma, infertility, insomnia, and sinusitis

We will warm up the body with a short flow series. Then discuss the correct form for headstand-thus helping to prevent injury. And then practice!! And if you leave and still can’t stand on your head don’t worry you will have the proper knowledge on how to build the strength you need to do it!
