Gaea Yoga is re-opening! I completed my first teacher training at the original Gaea Yoga in 2003. And met some amazing people. I am looking forward to practicing at Gaea soon! Check out their new website and schedule. And I will be teaching. See you there!!

The first memory Allison has of yoga is of a video during high school (Ali McGraw Yoga Mind & Body with Erich Schiffmann). In college, she took the occasional yoga class (still recalling that interesting video forever planted in her mind), but never had a consistent teacher. In 2003, she took the leap and signed up for the Gaea Yoga 200-hour Teacher Training. She was interested in learning more about yoga, but had no intentions of teaching. However, after three months of training she knew she wanted more!

She traveled to study with Doug Swensonand his passion and experience with yoga fueled her even further along the path. She returned to Charleston and immediately began teaching. In 2008, she completed the Jivamukti Yoga Teacher Training in New York.

At this point in her career, Allison has taught all ages and all levels of yoga. She has attended a variety of classes and workshops all over the country. It is said to truly master a subject you must teach it. While Allison doesn’t feel that she has even come close to mastering all there is to know about the ancient practice of yoga, she is honored to keep teaching and sharing what knowledge she has cultivated.

Allison would like to express her gratitude to her parents and her first teachers for their positive influence and constant support. She honors all her teachers – past, present and future.
